no replacement for displacement? Then why stop at the B18, might as well get an H22 or an H23/VTEC?

Buying any type of engine wont make you a ricer. Your statement alone makes you a ricer. Dressing up your engine bay as well as your car with neon green paint will surely give you the ricer status that you're looking for.

The only civic worth "customizing" would be the new SI's. Honda finally built a civic with balls. If not get an ITR, S2K or a Prelude, and drive the civic off of a cliff.

NOOOOOO! That is my absolute nightmare! (I also have a '91 Honda Civic). I'd automatically say spark plugs, because that seems to be an issue with older Civics. In fact, my car leaks oil into the spark plug tubes and I have to replace them every few months. Beyond that, I'm not sure. If you replaced them, then it is probably another ignition problem. Take it to a mechanic to have a look.

There are so many options!!!!!!! you can completly rebuild a ZC (Direct Fitting Engine) & if your patient & have money u can pull off 400HP or you can get the B16 that has many more aftermarket upgrades, more hp, doesnt weight a ton more, alot harder to swap. gl, im working on an 89 Si w/ a ZC

b18 twin turbo(turbo extra of course.) i had a 91 civic with custom conversion in it. anyone tellin you to get the b16 is just plain dumb man. no replacement for displacement. my honda beat alot of v8 powered rigs. if you want to not spend alot of money, go get the cold air intake, exhaust, cam and lifter set. and bigger injectors. maybe have the trans rebuilt to prevent harm from more power. oh take the rev limiter out and the govenor(if equipped) off of it too.

Well it depends on how much power u need. You can supercharge or turbocharge a B series engine. Have it done by an experienced tuner (one who has a good documented history). It will cost.. but you have fewer reliabilty issues.

it really depends on how much you want to spend of course. A website of a company that sells engines has lots of info on engines and swaps here is a link of an engine swap guide .
