Hello, I have a 1999 Honda Civic 5 door (MB series). I want to find out how much fuel economy would deteriorated if I fitted 16 inch alloy wheels in place of my Civic's standard 15 inch items.

Is the change worth it or should I just stick with the fifteens. I would just like a change, my Civic is getting boring to look at but I don't want to buy a new car.

My infant daughter will be sitting in the back seat and I'd like to limit the sun on her face and keep the car a little cooler so that she can have a comfortable ride, but I'd still like my car to look nice.

California law limits the amount of tinting you can have on your window; particularly the front windows. I've never been a huge fan of tinting the back and not the front or tinting the backs waaaayyy darker than the fronts. I have; however, seen cars on the road that look nice with the backs a little darker than the fronts - but I don't know what tinting percentages they are using.

I'm hoping there's a car enthusiast out there that can help me with
any suggestions or examples on what percentages might look good on the front windows vs. the back windows, while keeping my daughter comfy and staying withing the legal limits?

It's an occasional thing, but it seems to happen more often in hot weather or after I had just started the car for a short trip and turn it off. The engine will turn over, but it just won't start and the check engine light will stay on. After a few minutes, the check engine light turns off and then it will start again. If I get a running start and pop the clutch it will start no problem. Anybody know what's wrong?

Today I was driving to work in a nasty rainstorm. As I was driving over the large puddles of water collecting on the roadway, something strange happened. The red "battery" light on my dashboard lit up, and I had a hard time steering my car. Once I got over the puddle, the problem stopped -- at least until I hit the next puddle, when it happened again. I drive a 2003 Honda Accord EX. I contacted two local Honda dealerships to try and determine what the problem is and they were unable to help as they "had never heard of this before." Before I take the car in to have it looked at I thought I would post this question to see if anyone has had this happen to their vehicle and if so what the problem was and what I can do to correct the problem.

how much does an engine swap cost at a dealership, a shop, or what's the lowest price anyone has heard of it being done for? (the actual swap, meaning i already have everything needed, and need to get it all put in)

the engine will fit on the same exact mounts, but all the accessories will need to be swapped also.

So I have a '93 Accord EX, with an alarm. I think its a stock alarm although I'm not 100% sure. I know the Key fob has only 1 button for lock/unlock, and the remote says honda on it. Well the key FOB is in really bad shape, and barely works, and definetly needs to be replaced. I was going to get one of those universal programmable ones, however I was told by a couple of people, that those don't work with stock alarms because they use rolling code technology. I called the dealer and they want about $130 +tax for a replacement. And they couldn't tell me weather mine actually uses rolling code technology or not. Personally I didn't think that rolling codes existed back in '93. In any case, does anyone know how I can replace my Key FOB without going to the dealer?

I have a 147 hp automatic 2006 Honda Civic Coupe EX and I want to know exactly how fast it is compared with other cars in its group. What is its speed compared with other cars?

It also has a digital spedometer, what is its limit? 140? 160? I heard it was 160 on the dash, but since it is digital I am not sure?

Last, the gears have Drive, Drive3, 2, and 1? What exactly are those? I often drive fast and switch to Drive3 to go faster....is that harmful to my car if I time the shift???

Please go into detail with the answers so I can finally stop wondering about all those questions?
