how much does an engine swap cost at a dealership, a shop, or what's the lowest price anyone has heard of it being done for? (the actual swap, meaning i already have everything needed, and need to get it all put in)

the engine will fit on the same exact mounts, but all the accessories will need to be swapped also.

Figure about a day's worth of labour(8 hours) for the shop. I got a 1.6L engine swapped with another 1.6L engine for 500 bucks by a local mechanic shop a few years ago.

Depending on the vehicle, it is usually 12-20 hours flat rate labor to replace an engine. Usually a dealership will have a higher labor rate than a private shop. In my area, labor at a dealer is about $90 /hr and at a private shop anywhere from $60-80 /hr.

Call around and see what prices you are quoted!

I wouldn't take it to a dealership. But that's me. I think they charge way too much. Do you know of a local mechanic that is reputable? They can do the same work but less money.
