We have tried everything to unlock it. When we put our key in, it wont turn and neither will the steering wheel. Does anyone know how to get the lock to spring in the column itself?? We read something about using a 3/8" drill bit in the bottom circle unit. ANyone else ever heard of this or go a different route?

Try turning the wheel and holding it just a bit before turning the key. This should take the pressure off so the key will turn.

You just need to try to turn the wheel back and forth while trying to turn the key. Sometimes the locks get into a bind. It may take a minute or so, but this should solve your problem.

the whole box around the steering column is made of two peices. undo the screws holding it together and you can then undo the screw that holds the lock on. Then the steering wheel is unlocked and you can start the car with a screwdriver

Ideally you should call AAA if you live in the states or the equivelant if your in another country. Otherwise, I don't know. Or a tow truck company may know.
