You know how when you stop at a light or stop sign, after you stop the rear of the car squats a little bit, just as it does when you hit the gas from a dead stop. Well during this 'squat' I get a 'bad-wheel-bearing-ish' sound, both when I stop and when I go again. It only makes this sound after repeated stops. I can recreate the sound by holding the brake and applying a small amount of gas. It sounds like a slight pop and you can almost feel it more than you can hear it.

I had the pads and rotors changed on my 2000 A6 by my local import shop (no Audi dealer nearby). My car has the optional 8 pad brake pad setup on the front and the shop used OEM because of the brake pad setup. I presume they changed the sensor because that comes in the kit. I originally took the car in because the dashboard indicator light came on...no squeaking, no problems braking, not time to have the brakes changed mileage-wise --- just the dashboard light came on.

Well, now the right front brake squeaks - just the right front. It's really loud and obnoxious and occurs 80% of the time when braking. It's doing something else funny when braking but not consistently.

I've taken it back to the import shop three times and the squeaking problem has not been resolved. I need to know in what direction I need to go now. It's obvious the import shop either broke something, installed something wrong, or somehow caused this problem.

If anyone could give me an idea what to do now.

I went to move the car into the garage to replace the exhaust system. After starting and releasing the e-brake, I found a rock-hard brake pedal, with NO response at all to the brakes. I don't know jack about ABS systems. The fluid is up. There were absolutely no warning signs. Anyone else had this problem? Thanks in advance.

I heard that from the Auto Union, Audi's group has build other 3 cars, the Wanderer, DKW and the Horch. Horch is the luxury division of the Auto Union. Occasionally when I start my Audi A4 1.9tdi I can hear four loud beeps that sound like they're coming from the boot area. I have no idea what's causing them or where they're coming from but it's annoying me and I want to know what it means. I don't have reversing sensors fitted so it's not that.
