Occasionally when I start my Audi A4 1.9tdi I can hear four loud beeps that sound like they're coming from the boot area. I have no idea what's causing them or where they're coming from but it's annoying me and I want to know what it means. I don't have reversing sensors fitted so it's not that.

The only thing that's in the boot that can make a noise is the vacuum module that operates the central locking its a small black box on the r/h side as you look at car from front. These have been known to make similar noises.you need to get somone to start car whilst you are in a position to locate noise.Regards |Mick

Does your car have Xenon lights, if so, there is tiny sensors on the back suspension to determin what angle they should be at as they are auto leveling due to the intensity of the light. It could be the sensors that are beeping. Get this checked out though.

It's the cd player switching on and off, or if you have a reversing system it could be that, but not likely on a a4 unless it is an estate version

I do believe you are speaking of your car boot, am I correct. I can't find much except on this model they have an alarm at times that will start beeping , you can disable it down at the bottom of your seat. The alarms are in that area .
However this could be a warning of something worse. Please have it checked.

check the diesel pump, its got to pump upto pressure... if the soun dstops after a few seconds dont worry too much. however it could be the pressure regulator or any other part of the fuel system.

and dont waste your time on here, go ask an audi technician.

Probably the electric fuel pump that works on a pressurised recirculation principle.

Try adding some upper cylinder lubricant to the fuel. It may work

My Mégane does that sometimes too when I unlock it - it means that something has set off the alarm since I last locked it.
I can't guarantee that yours means the same thing, though.

Take it to Kwik Fit, let them have alook at it.

Unless you have an illegal immigrant in the boot? Could be his wrist watch going off..
