You know that little indestructible black box that is used on planes...

why can't they make the whole plane out of the same substance?

Wouldnt it be safer? How about making cars out of that too? Seems like it might be a good idea. I'm sure it would be expensive but arent they already??

Help!!! My husband is 45 years old and recently decided that he wants to start a new career as an airline pilot. I'm desperately trying to dissuade him because 1. The cost of training to become an airline pilot would bankrupt us 2. He is too old to start this career (he has never flown a plane before)! He is middle aged and I'm really worried he is in his midlife crisis (he denies it). 3. No airline company will hire him at this age. This fixed idea of his had caused us a lot of grief lately and I just don't know what to do anymore! Please help with good advice based on facts so that I can show him the responses. Hopefully this will help him come back to his senses.

Hi. I'm searching for the technical specifications of this plane, and the 3-views draws would be very helpful too. Do you know any website where I can find this stuff?

Thanks in advance!

I guess I hurted someone's feewings, since I was reported. What is this building 500 Drewpie keeps droning on about? Is it like building 300 at Warner Robins? Is it an "institution"?
I grew up on 3 continents, four countries, 9 U.S. states. SO WHAT???

Everybody keeps going on about how planes pollute the environnement so much and that taking a plane from london to NY is like driving your car 10 times around the world or watever but does anyone actually know the annual carbon emmissions released into the atmosphere by planes compared to that of cars? Surely cars pollute more because there are so many.

I am taking flying lessons and am curious about this. In the back of my logbook I have a space for endorsements for things like complex aircraft and high performance aircraft. My question is, when my flight instructor trains me and signs that specific endorsement, do I need to get that added to my pilot certificate once I get it, or do I just need to keep it in my logbook? Also, when I get a new logbook, how do I carry over my endorsement?

Can a kite nylon string cause a chopper to crash? A chopper just crashed and investigators said it was caused by a kite string which got ravelled up on the rotor when the chopper snagged it in mid-air. I have doubts.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but I started thinking about this and I know there probably is a simple logical answer. The world is round, so how does an airplane that flys from New York to Japan at 30,000 feet remain at the same altitude if the world is round? Gravity? I am not asking how the airplane flys or stays straight & level

i have my PPL and rent 152's and 172's from a local flying club. these planes get abused alot, especially the 152's and i dont want to do a good landing and then the wheel falls off and i might have to pay for it or something, i know they have an insurance but i think it only covers the engine and maybe the airframe, also if you break something they say you would only have to pay double your deposit fee ($2000), still sucks. is the aopa insurance reliable and isnt it about $90 a year

What is the best way to buy, lease or fractionally purchase a private jet? Seems like there are many companies all offering the same things, but with different names. This reminds me of shopping for a mattress a few years ago when I saw the same mattress at two different stores, but with different names and varying prices. Any thoughts?

When they are crashing in their plane? Why, "May day"? Does it have anything to do with the actual May Day?
