i understand what pilot means he says rotate and v1 but what does v2 mean?

V1 is the takeoff decision speed... when the pilot must decide to continue or abort the takeoff...

V2 is the takeoff speed, comes after rotate and is the speed at which the wheels should leave the ground...

EDIT: It is correct that is the one engine inop. safety speed, but that also means that it is the minimum climb speed and in terms of takeoff, the V2 would be when the wheels leave the pavement (one engine or not)...

In general aviation we call it the rotation speed. V1 speed means you cannot stop safely if you try to from then on and V2 means takeoff or rotation speed.

V2 is when the saftey speed for climbing- for an airplane. That is the safest airspeed that a plane can climb.
