I sincerely think that low earners should pay less tax and high earner should pay higher tax. However in the UK it is the opposite. Dont you think that this issue should be addressed seriously? Please keep your view points posted......

a freind of mine has just been issued with a demand for unpaid tax from 10 years ago while he was self employed.Although he paid all of his tax about 8 years ago, he cannot find any paperwork. Will the Inland Revenue have records from 8 years ago? Thankyou.

Excuse the stupidity but do part-time students pay tax at the usual rate? I'm going back to college to do a one-day a week Masters and need to work out where i'm going to stand financially.

(short of my parent sgiving all their money to charity, lol). I'm not sure if I'll need to pay it as it'll be split between me and my brother but it's good to know my options just in case.

Hi, I hope you guys might be able to help me out here. I've been self-employed since July 2005 and I believe that this year I will have to complete my first self-assessment. I am definitely going to get an accountant involved, but due to the cost outlay (and the fact I'm quite skint at the moment) I would prefer to leave it for a couple of months. Could anyone tell me when the self-assessment form is due and how I get it? (is it sent to me?) Also, is it pretty straightforward to fill in? And when do I actually pay the tax - do I send a cheque with it or will I be billed for it?

Many Thanks In Advance!

Why are we getting ripped off by manufactures, who set prices so high? Vat is less than most other euorpean countries, and they mostly earn more than us yet we still pay more than them for loads of things. Visitors to uk are shocked these days. It's time for a revolution. Why do we just sit and take it? We're paying too much for all the overpaid politicians, and the country is turning into a dump.
