My son worked in Spain for the 2006 tax year. He has dual citizenship (European/German) and has lived there in 2006. Does he file a Canadian Income Tax Return? If so, what about the income and taxes from Spain, do they get included in the Canadian Tax return?

THanks

In NZ the income tax works like this, fot the 1st $38,000 of annual salary you are taxed 22%, for the amount from $38,001 and $60,000 you are taxed 33%, for amounts over $60,000 the tax rate is 39%. Tax is automatically deducted by your employer each pay period. Does it work like this in Canada? I'm wanting to know the tax rates, etc.

Someone mentioned that since our child has hearing loss and wears hearing aids we should be claiming him as "disabled". Does anyone know what this is all about? Is it even worthwhile doing?

Hello,
I have a second job. It's a part time job. I'm NOT self employed, I have a contract for partime/overtime.
The issue is that this job is 100% made from my home, through the internet. Can I deduce some expenses as: internet cost, new PC purchased, % of my rent from my income tax?
Thanks

I take care of my wonderful grandson, age 5, five days or more a week. I buy all his clothing, feed him my food, and take him to the doctor when needed, getting his meds, etc. Is there any type tax deduction for this? It really gets costly..........but, I will continue to do it, even if I don't have any tax help with it.

I have never filed a tax return before and I dont know if I should be expecting $50 or $2000. I earn $1000 per week out of which 288 is taken out for taxes. I know it totally depends on my circumstances so I just want a very vague answer, just something that will give me some idea of what to expect.

What are the criterias for reducing income tax ? What is a tax write-off ? Is my estimation that on $ 15,000. of declared income in Canada, I would have to pay around $ 2000 income tax ? I don't own a home yet, and live mostly in my truck when the weather is warm enough to save on rent and attempt to save toward a cabin.. Is there a way to be creative with one's taxes ? Besides personal criteria for tax exemption, how much can I donate to charity or to an individual doing charitable work ? Can I write off any percentage of what I would pay in income tax toward my 20 yr old son's college or univeristy education ? I am almost constantly driving and traveling when I do sales work.. Are there bills or receipts I am supposed to keep during the year that are helpful toward tax exemptions ? My commercial art business is not yet officially registered. To qualiify for tax exemption, is there an advantage to having your business registered or is it ta disadvantage ?

Here is a scenario: A company decides to have newly constructed homes built on a land they own in January of 2006. A couple decides that they want to buy one of the homes that are to be built and signs an agreement of purchase that same month. The home is not constructed and they cannot close until December of 2006. So the couple can only have access to the home from December of 2006. Then February 2007 comes and the property tax bill for 2006 arrives. In your opinion, whose responsibility is it to pay that bill? and why? has anyone ever experienced this?
