The Ontario Tax Credit, which is what you receive for rent paid, is dependant on your net income for tax purposes. There is no simple % amount.

First being under the age of 65 entitles you to $250
The you need to add rent ($600X12X10%)= $720
These figures combine ($970)
Then calculate your net income minus $4000 X 2%
The net is you $ value for the purposes of the tax rebate

Assume Income of ($30,000 -$4000)x2%= $520
$720-$520 = $200 (using $30K for income)
That's basically the calculation.
