I looked up on a tax site and saw that in Canada you aren't taxed on inheritances. I'm not sure if that is the same as inheriting and then selling.

Ok all you accountants need some advice. I've been working for haliburton in iraq for almost 2 years having gone home only once in that time. I have non resident status with my only ties to back home being a small bacnk account, visa and driver's license. In the 2 years I'll have made almost $200,000 all of which goes into a US bank account. When I come home I plan on transferring all that I have in it back to my Canadian account. Can anyone tell me if I will get taxed on the money I made? I have no wife and no kids..

I'm not sure about whether I should use and child care flexible spending account or not. If I take pretax dollars and put them away to use for childcare, do I still get the benefit of a child care tax deduction when I file my taxes? Is that double-dipping?

I want to sell the video camera on ebay , I think I will get only about 400 dollars. Can I get a refund of the GST and PST paid on the excess amount? (900 - 400 = 500 dollars , 15% of 500 is 75 dollars)

Can a landlord use Water and Sewerage bill payments, and Water Heater Payments as a tax write off? I know that landlords have to claim rental income on their taxes as income, but are there any write off's? I have recently heard of someone who has declared himself as a natural person to avoid paying taxes. You can also avoid paying taxes by calling yourself a religious order, but I'm not interested in that. Any info on the "Natural Person" angle?
