Their rights were respected in Lebanon, with Canada rescuing them. What duties and obligations do they have to their country? They do not have to pay taxes. Do they pay into our Old Aid Pension? Can they collect it? Do they pay medical? Can they receive medical attention in Canada? I would like to know more about this.

When Canadians living in Lebanon were rescued by Canada, the Canadian taxpayers paid the whole shot. Now these same Lebanese Canadians have gone back to Lebanon. They do not pay taxes in Canada. Is this fair?

say I earn 4000 Canadian, before tax and all the other stuff, how much would I get Approximately? (In Germany if I got 3000 Euro I would bring home around 2200 Euro.) Or do I get that figure and pay tax at the end of the tax year? I’ll be working on a working visa in Canada for a year or two. Any serious answers would be welcome.

If I bought 10 shares of a stock at $10 each, I pay $100 + commissions. If the next day the company pays a dividend of $1, the stock price goes to $9 doesn't it?

When measuring capital gain in selling the stock the next day, do I measure gain from the $10+commissions level or the $9+commissions level?

In otherwords do I have to adjust my base cost for a stock after every dividend distribution so that the capital gains calculation makes sense?

Thanks.

Its the same gas. Every Province has a different price. And a lot more expensive then Are neighbors (USA) to the south have to pay. I think the prices are being fixed and there are a lot of antitrust laws being broken. But The Canadian Govenment won't step in because they get 100's of millions in Gas Tax.

Property Tax, School Tax, Alcohol Tax, Tabacco Tax, Gas Tax, Provicial Sales Tax, Goods and Sevices Tax, Tire Tax, Battery Tax, Enviro Tax, Income Tax, etc...... And if they don't call it a Tax it then becomes a fee, sur charge, licence, Fee, Fee, Fee. As a Canadian myself, I think it sucks donkey Dic_. I can't wait to some day break the chains of debt and leave this Country for good.
