say I earn 4000 Canadian, before tax and all the other stuff, how much would I get Approximately? (In Germany if I got 3000 Euro I would bring home around 2200 Euro.) Or do I get that figure and pay tax at the end of the tax year? I’ll be working on a working visa in Canada for a year or two. Any serious answers would be welcome.

Call H&R Block, they can answer your questions for you on all taxes. they are in the local phone book. As it is not tax season, then they will probably want you to leave a message so they can phone you back or make appointment.

That would depend on which Province or Territory you live in. Different parts of the country have different taxes and costs of living.
