could anyone tell me which one is better in terms of income after tax? family of two:one work and earn 100k or two both work and earn 50K each?

LaLa is right on this one:
One income earner makes $100K - you would pay $29,374 in taxes in Ontario.
Two incomes at $50K each - the total taxes for the two would be $20,318.

Hope this helps. Perhaps if they ever bring income splitting in this won't matter.

Well, at that income level, it just comes down to tax bracket. Since one income at $100,000 falls into a higher tax bracket, you would pay more taxes on the one income than two incomes of $50,000.
