I am going to be starting a new job soon and was trying to figure out how much income I could expect to have available to spend each month. I am going to be making 35K per year in Oklahoma. I only claim myself. I have heard that I would only have 20% taken out and be ok...? If someone could help I would appreciate it. Thanks!!

If you make $40,000 a year, how much of this goes to the government for income taxes? I mean this being for a person that has no children (for the child tax credit), is single, and lives alone. My friend told me that the government get's half of this, which means you only really have $20,000 which can't be right. I know the point is to screw people, but I don't even think the government would go that low. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If I decide to deed this property to an associate and they decide to refinance the property I gave them, will their be questions raised later on if (by chance) I am audited by the IRS? I have made NO money off the property personally. but their is value in the home. By me not selling the home will that be a red flag to the IRS???

I work as an independent contractor doing computer tech support. I've never been paid before as a contractor so i'm not too sure about the whole tax thing. My main question is this. A few months back I got a federal tax ID for a business I wanted to start. Well would it be more financially benifical to me to have my employer pay me directly as an independent contractor or should he pay me under my company name and federal tax ID number?
Which one would give me more deductions?
Also what percentage would I want to deduct to cover taxes if I was in the $30K-$40K and $40K-$50K a yr pay range, being single, no assets, no property, 1 child not claiming as a dependent.

Okii, so heres, the deal. Im a US permanent resident but I´ve been living in Costa Rica since August 2006. Anyway, my dad was meant to mail me my tax information in february, but of course he didnt until, like April 20th or so. So i didnt do my taxes on time, nor filed for an extension. Then I tried making them through turbo tax, but it didnt let me submit them cause a) my dad claimed me as a dependent and I´m not b)It wouldnt accpet the country code for Costa Rica. Turbo Tax said I had to mail the forms, and heres the real question:
Should I just print everything I got done on Turbo tax and mail it? Should I write a letter and what should it say? And where should I mail it to?
Money really isnt a problem, I dont owe nor own anything, so it´s a pretty easy case, I´d say..
Please help!!

I submitted my taxes on April 9 and am due a refund, however it's almost two months later and I have nothing. Every time I check the government website it said it's been received, but not processed. I'm concerned that something may have been wrong on my end that I'm unaware of. Everything was fine when I did my taxes online. Anybody know?
