WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Democratic U.S. presidential candidate John Edwards on Sunday said that he would raise taxes, chiefly on the wealthy, to pay for expanded healthcare coverage under a plan costing $90 billion to $120 billion a year to be unveiled on Monday.

"We'll have to raise taxes. The only way you can pay for a healthcare plan that cost anywhere from $90 to $120 billion is there has to be a revenue source," Edwards said on NBC's Meet the Press news program.

Edwards also went on to publicly declare the Bush Tax cuts will be eliminated. Any of you liberals out there still think this is an exaggeration???

I was late paying my December installment of my council tax and paid it with the January installment in cash on the 15 Jan ( it should have been paid on ! Dec and 1 Jan) but recieved a Magistrate court summons for the 2 outstanding amounts after I had paid them.(it was dated the day before I paid but i received it 2 days afterwards). I have phoned the council tax office but they insist I must pay the £40 summons fee or the court hearing will proceed against me.I have not got £40 to spare this month so what will happen when the case goes to court because I don't actually owe any council tax installments, it is fully paid for the year ending 31 March now.

I received notification that the IRS received my taxes...I e-filed. If there's a disagreement between my records and theirs, how long would it take for them to notify me that they need additional documentation? Again, they've received the taxes already...I'm just asking about it in case there's a disagreement.

My child was injured in a car accident and my husband and I used a great portion of our saved leave time at each of our workplaces by staying at the hospital and taking her to medical appointments for her injuries. Is there any way to deduct this? If so, would it be a medical expense or casualty or what? Can someone help? I've searched every tax site that I can find and the tax software is of no help and I understand that going to the IRS local office will be quite a wait at this time of year.
