My brother-in-law got paid today (2007) for his last week he worked in December of 2006. His employer put on his paytub something about end of year (2006) earnings. Which included this paycheck he got today. If this is suppose to be for 2007, where can I read (forum, website, etc) Anywhere I can print out proof that it should not reflect the 2006 year but reflect the 2007 year. Someone please help me as soon as possible. Thank you.

Worked under 1099. The first pay check was manual check from the company I worked for, and the rest from the company's payroll company. I'm trying to computer my 2006 estimated tax to send it out before 1/16/07 deadline.
My problem is on the final paycheck stub, the payroll company did NOT include the amount I was paid for by the manual check, and I was told by the company I worked for that I can just use the number on my final paycheck stub to figure out my Estimated Tax.
This number does not include the 1st pay, manual check.

I think the payroll company probably has reported IRS whatever the number was on my final paycheck stub which doesn't include the amount on the manual check.

What do I do? Do I use the number on the final paycheck stub OR
add the amount of manual check to the number to figure out my 2006 estimated tax?

Okay so in the past year i grossed $14,192.72 in taxable income, on top of that $1,906 was non taxable because my job is paying for my education. Fed. Witholding is 1,737.58. I am claimed as a dependent on my fathers tax return. I am wondering how much I should expect to get back on my return when I file?

I had two dependents (mother and my nephew) that I claimed, and my filing status was "Head of Household" for the tax year of '05. My return has been examined, and the IRS is stating that I do not fall under the "Head of Household" status. Is there a form or letter that I can send the IRS to prove this. I paid all the bills and assisted my dependents with cash, but none of the bills or the residence is under my name. My mother did not work that year, and my nephew is under 5 yrs old, thus, they could not provide for anything. This is the first year that I file this status. My mother worked for 2004 and my nephew was not living with us prior to this. Thank you.

A partnership I am a member of sold an apartment building
last year that we have owned and depreciated since 1979.
Using IRS Form 4797, I have computed: (1) the total gain, (2)
the amount of gain subject to depreciation recapture, and
(3) the amount of gain that is long term capital gain (Form
4797 lines 30 - 32). My question is on what lines of IRS Form
1065 Schedule K do these numbers get entered on?

I work for a community resource agency that assists people in the community with developmental disabilities, mental retardation, etc. They pay me mileage when I meet with clients but I'm curious to know whether I can claim some other aspect of this job's travel requirements. I already know about deducting food and entertainment expenses and getting %50 so I don't need any advise about that. I'm also good about the unreimbursed business expenses too like: computer, paper, stuff like that I seem to have a handle on. I purchased a washer and dryer this year - can I deduct that somehow? What about a new TV? What about car parts and the tools I used to replace them? Can you suggest a software that will help me do my taxes with itemized deductions? Thank you ahead of time for your response. Any and all help appreciated even if I said I already know about it!! You might know something that I don't. ~ Thanks ~
