I would prefer a listing of all 50 states as opposed to visiting the Department of Revenue for each individual state.

A family member of mine recently cashed in bonds valued at around $230k. Around $170k of this was interest earned over the pat 30-40 years. I'm trying to determine how much of this she should set aside for taxes.

Annual income is around $30-40k a year. This is in the state of Louisiana, so I'd expect state taxes as well.

My husband and I do not claim his daughter on the taxes. The mother gets to claim every year, even though we pay $310 a month in child support and pay for her insurance. Question is...are we entitled to claim the child care tax credit since we are paying 100% of the daycare? Or, does the person claiming the child get to claim this even though she is not the one paying it? Please, answers!! We are in Illinois by the way.

Since my state income tax is deductible, I am hoping that by increasing my state tax withholding in 2006, my income will be pushed back to the non-AMT level.

Thank you in advance for any advice!
