.The very first thing, If I have purchased the
car through the company (may be in the name of the company)
can I get any sort of tax deduction for the amount which I am
paying as the EMI to the bank each month.

2.The very same confusion exist with the house rent.
that is if I have a rented house which I have
taken in the name of the company can I claim any sort of
deduction.

3.Another query relates to my Leave travel Allowance,I
have given a predicted figure of Rs.25000 towards LTA but
this hasn't been taken into account in the calculation of
the Exemptions. The same is the case for the medical allowance.
Can you please clarify that when are these figures be used
as exemptions and are shown as a deduction from the taxable
income.

4.I have also recieved Sodex-ho coupons worth 13000 INR,but
even these hasn't been accounted for.

5.Can the electricity bill and the gas bill (paid by me) be
considered for the exemptions.

This little phrase we all use or hear every day but depending on where you start from either zero or the given number your answer will differ greatly. So what is the correct starting point to calculate the answer ? Next time someone says it is twice as much or they have twice as many be aware of the word play.

I am doing a little mental excersize, and I want to know aproximately what percentage of his/her income a worker should expect to pay in taxes at the state, local and federal levels. If you could even give a break down, that would be better. For the sake of my excersize, this individual doesn't own a house, but rents an appartment, and has a small car, which is insured.

if my son, now 15, has a income of 10,000,and filing his own tax return, how does it have impact on my tax return?-can i claim him, if he opt not to claim on his tax return? would i be eligible to claim child tax credit?
if i am an illinois resident, how it affects on my state return? how much amt he would be paying state tax on?

i am eligible to claim him as a dependent, as i have supported him fully and living with me etc provided he dont claim.and if he dont claim on fed1040, he wont be able to claim on il1040 either.
the thing is which one best suites for a family as a whole. if he files his tax return, he would be paying tax on 5000$ @10%,considering he is not contributing to ira and not claiming himself as a dependent. whereas i would be saving tax of my bracket on 5000, but still eligible to claim him as adependent...so can reduce tax liability on3200$ by claiming his exemption.am i getting it right?
