A friend living some 200 miles away owes me £126. They said they'd paid me an online transfer yesterday (Thursday 1st Feb) from their bank (Barclays) to mine (Natwest). No sign of it at all on my end. How long should it take? I thought online banking was instantaneous. Or is my friend telling me lies?

I woke up this morning and noticed that the bank made a $2,200 bank error in my favor. I know it sounds like a monopoly game, but it actually happened to me.
I know , I know what I should do morally but I am a college student and struggling and it would be niccceeeeeeeee.
I live in Las vegas, does anyone know what Nevada's laws are in regards to bank error. I know it varies from state to state.
Has this happened to anyone? Did you actually keep it? How long did it take?
Thanks,
Poor, Desperate, College Gal

My plan is to open a traditional IRA with Fidelity, buy its mutual fund (which one do you think is the best for me?). Beside, I will buy some DRIP stock of some oil company such as COP, Exxon...Is it a good plan, i don't have a lot of money ($3000), i am 21, student, currently working ? I want to be conservative, i plant to hold stocks for long period.
I read that a traditional IRA will automatic become a Roth IRA in 2010, is it correct? SO, should i open a Trad IRA or ROth IRA. Thank you

I max out my 401K each year; I max out my IRA contributions for my wife and I each year; I have setup a taxable account that has an automatic investment program where I invest in a diverse array of low cost index funds every other week; I have a multi unit building providing positive cash flow each month; I have a 529 for my son where I put money away each month. What, where, why, and how else do I need to invest to become a multi millionaire?

I have all these fee's that caused my account to go bad. The bank said I have only 30 days to pay I made a deposit for half of the amount but would not have enough by the 19th when they say that all my accounts with them would be closed. How would I pay for all of these NSF and overdraft fee's once accounts are closed. Do you think if I called the 1800 number I could get a extened time so that my accounts would remain open?

The sum of balance of three months (90 something days) of my bank account comes to 6,40,000 and the QAB requirement for the bank account is 25,000.

According to my calculation, the daily average balance should be (640000/90) 7111 and the QAB should be (640000/3) 2,13,333, which is much above the minimum requirement of 25000!

Am I getting it wrong?

Please help. Thanks.

We are in debt 30,000K and have an income of 36,000K. We pay $1400 in rent and $950 in revolving credit a month without gas and food and utilities. We are not making it. We filed bankruptcy 8 years ago when my hubby lost his job right after me losing mine. With all the law changes, are we even elgible to file chap 7 again? I hear to stay away from Credit Counseling....and I cant find a debt consolidation loan that we can get without collateral. Does anyone know a way to help us? If something doesnt happen soon we are going to lose everything anyway. HELP!!!!

I think I heard Clark Howard discussing this, saying that the Swiss goverment would contribute 25% of what is saved. I think this would be something that US government should look into since the savings rate for 2006 hit a low of -1% (as reported by ABC News). They probably shouldn't look at matching contributions here, but they could offer a tax credit based on income as to how much is saved. Anyone agree?
