Personal Finance - December 2006

I need to get enough money to get several closse people christmas gifts.. How do I get the money for it and like how do I get it soon.. My dad won't give me a dime even if I work for it my mmom RARELY give sme ****.. the only money that I get is luch money every week.. what do I save that up or what.. I don't knwo what to do.. I need money and fast. it's for others for once and not me... how do I get it.. :-)

O and p.s I'm only 14 so I can't get a job or anything like that.

I am in need of 25k ASAP, not getting into the story. I do not own my home so that rules out any equity options. I do have a car that is completely pd off it is valued at 12k. Now would it be possible to get a loan for 25k? I have a credit rating of 670, pay all of my bills on time and make 47k at my current job. I would like to longer term loan if possibe and payments no more than 450. Any good suggestion, is this possible

I have a wage garnishment agains me and the amount that they are taking out is more then I can afford I can not even pay my rent this month I paid $500. but still owe $150 I was told to get another job by the Judge who I seen to try to reduce the payment and I do not even have a car I'm at my present job from 7am to 5:30pm and only make $9.80 an hour and dont know when I could fit in another job with three kids at home. No there father is not around and is of no support what so ever. I just wondering if anyone knows of any resourses that could help me pay my rent this month and next month I need help I get my income taxes in Jan and can pay the debt off but am worried in the mean time we will get kicked out for non payment of rent not sure what else I can do any help out there is highly appreciated I live in Yuba County Ca.

if i took out a home loan for 400000 but i only needed 100000,can i use the rest to go gamble in las vegas and get hammered,or will the loan office want to see documents of the exact cost of the house.also,can i get a home loan and just use the money to rent a condo,im trying to get a large bankroll to be a gambler

I'm 17 and a half, with a good amount of money (for a teen...) in my savings account at Citibank, and I'm looking to opening a checking account.

I really have two questions; should I just wait until I'm 18 to open one so I won't need to make a joint account, and what, in your opinion, would be the best bank to do my checking at when I'm ready to open one? Thanks for the replies!

I have a friend who was deliquent on her school loan for years. Her $14,000 loan ballooned to $50,000. A couple of years ago she inherited some money from her mom around $220,000. For some reason she's can't get a job. Shouldn't she pay this full amount off instead of paying all the interest in it. She wants to buy a house eventually.

im not trying to take out a huge loan,only for like 5000 to tide me over,they said they colud fax my employer for proof of employment,meaning filling out how long i worked there,how much i make and how long i will be at that job{i think thats what they do},theres is no way i can default on that small of loan,but my main question is do the banks know i dont work there,and when they said fax my employer what will he fill out for proof of employment.

I want to get $20,000 to start a home-based business. I don't own my own home, my car is only worth $2,500, but I have a great credit rating and credit cards at my disposal. i ask this because i dont have a job but my friend has a buisness and will fill out the paper work if needed.if they fax him for proof of employment.i filled out a online application and when i talk to the people on the phone are they gonna know the info i filled out isnt true.i cant get a pay stub but i can probably dummy up a w2 form.

After years of hard slog I am finally a higher rate tax payer. As my financial situation has now changed I'm reviewing my 'finances'. I have some spare cash at the end of each month and was wondering where is it going to work harder for me:

option 1 - overpaying the mortgage?
option 2 - paying it into a low cost pension?
option 3 - in cash isas?
option 4 - in index tracking share isas?

I know this isn't an easy question, there are just so many variables, which is why I've posted it here, has anyone else given this some thought?

I.E., a computer could be an asset because it could be rented out, and thus would generate money on its own. I am looking for a list of things that would be considered assets, as opposed to liabilities, in the home. Things that could be used to create money without me being there. (Think "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" concept). Thanks a lot.

I got an email you know one of those many forwards that you get and are quite annoying...anyways I opened it and it says if your ever at ATM and a "robber" comes up behind you, demanding money you can enter your pin number backwards and it automatically alerts the police. You can still get your money though is this true?
