I work for a non-profile foundation. My income is low for my area. I feel it is too late to start a new job at my age to where I can build income or retirement. I just make my bills as it is. My health is slowing and I need to find a means to retire. I do not have any money to invest (lost my 30 yr marrage and came out with nothing so I'm starting all over.

in college, to survive, i racked up $15,000 on credit cards form 7 different credit card companies. i then graduated and have a job, but i am way over my head in bills. i'm never late on my school loans, rent, or car payments. so they arent the problem. the problem is i missed a payment here and there on my credit cards and now every company wants me to pay atleast $100.00 right away. there is no way i can afford that. i could barely even afford the normal payments. i got letters telling me they are going to transfer my accounts to a collection agencies. what happens then? and what are my options? i'm very worried.

My bank account has been negative for almost a month now. I bounced a bunch of stuff, and the bank charged me $32 each time. I have payments come out automatically each time I get paid, and it always pushes me back under. Then the bank charges again. I can't take it, I've been charged over $1000 on these fees in the past month. I'm not sure if the bank would reduce the fees, probably not since it's policy. I need to figure out how to get some money before my next payday, because I have a car insurance payment going out Monday and my account is already negative. My parents won't even help (and no, I've never asked for money before).

I have $4000 in debt, and received about $4000 in a mutual fund as a gift. Since my creditors are charging me a higher % than i'm earning in interest, shouldn't i pay off my debt?

I am about to from an inheritance. This is more money than I thought I'd ever see in my lifetime! My life has always been living 'paycheck to paycheck' and sometimes (like today) payday seems so far way!

Do I walk in my bank with the 100K check and say "I need to make a deposit"?

I don't want to be stupid with it and turn around in a few years and think "where did it go?".....

If I recently graduated from college and have a full time job lined up, no student loans, no other major expenses (besides rent), and a relatively low rent at that... is it too much to spend 22k on an almost new car? My income is enough to cover the payments easily, but insurance/gas/maint and depr costs make it way more costly to own than buying a clunker to drive around. Would it be better to invest the extra money or enjoy having a nice car?

I have had my car loan for about a year now, and have never missed a payment. My co-signer declared bankruptcy about six months ago, but my finance company told me as long as I continued to make the payments they would contact me about removing the co-signer/refinancing to make me sole borrower. They never contacted me, but I continued to make the regular payments by check (which they cashed each month) but now the company is telling me I am three months behind and they are going to repossess. I had no prior correspondence (either written or verbal) about non-payment or even late payment until about a week ago when they started threatening repo. I am already requesting the cancelled checks from my bank to show proof of payment, but is there anything else that can be done? I am just so frustrated that I have done nothing wrong (i.e. I have been faithfully paying for my vehicle on time and the full payments) for over a year and am now facing this. Help!
