I think I might have given someone the wrong shipping address on a package they sent to me via USPS priority. Is there a way that I can get the package from the post office? Or contact them to let them know it's coming?

Hi everyone. I had been expecting a package that was supposed to arrive today. I got home at around 6 pm, and checked my e-mail at about 7:30 pm. Apparently, a delivery confirmation e-mail says that the package arrived and was delivered at 4:15 pm today. My mom and brother were home, but were never made aware that the UPS people had come by, nor did they ring the doorbell! I'm so upset, and don't know what to do! It says in the e-mail that the delivery location is the "porch"!! Can they just leave the package there without ringing the doorbell? What actions should I take now? What if someone stole it?? Is there warranty? Can I get some insurance payment??

Thanks for any help at all.

P.S. It was an mp3 player product replacement from Sandisk, if that helps at all (which is why I'm so sad now!!).

I have to turn this essay tommorow and I need someone to proof read it, PLEASE.
The business letter is the basic means of communication between two companies. It is a document typically sent externally to those outside a company but is also sent internally to those within a company. Most business letters have a formal tone. The business letter establishes a permanent record of the information enclosed. The three main critical points when writing any business communications are to identify audience, purpose and desired results. In order to deliver an effective communication the needs and interest of the readers should be researched first.
First the audience must be analyzed and then the purpose can be determined. The typical audience is other professionals. However, it might also include co-workers. These audiences generally are required to provide a detailed background about the purpose. Determining the audience is important as it aids in choosing the right language and level of detail. The audience needs and expectations must be addressed for writing to be effective, so word choice and tone must cater to these needs.
The next step is to establish the purpose of the communication. The purpose of the letter must be stated clearly and not leave the reader questioning what he just read. Writing business letters is used to inform readers of specific information. However, it might also be used to persuade others to take action or to propose ideas. Business letters can even function as advertisements at times. For example, letters from long-distance phone companies sent to those not signed up for their services or the cover letter of a resume. Both of these serve to promote or advertise.
Business letters can be challenging to write, because the readers’ attention can be hard to keep if a letter is not written properly. This is particularly the case if the readers receive large amounts of mail and have little time to read.

The last step is to deliver the desired result. This stage is the action paragraph. The writer should state the action needed from the reader.

For example, if it costs $1 for each dollar bill but only 20 cents for each dollar coin, does the government then make 80 cents on each new coin? I say no but a friend says yes.

I am focusing more on non-necessity purchases, other than food or supplies.

I would say I make about 75% of my purchases of non-neccessity goods online. I don't even remember the last time I went to a shopping mall (since I worked in one). I actually work at a retail electronics store and I hardly make purchases at work (even w/ a discount) because I buy most of my stuff online. Prices are cheaper, I can do a lot of research and the selection is limitless. Plus it cuts down on impulse buying because I don't feel I "have" to buy something because I made a trip to a store.

What about you all?

I am ready to untie the dock lines and sail into the sunset! From Canada to the Caribbean then the Med! How can I earn a living?? My boat is pretty self sufficient, I only need about a $1000 a month living expenses. (I have a boat maintenance/repair emergency fund) I'll rent my house out but that will only pay for mortage and upkeep. Other then that I'm debt free! I could stick around for a couple of more years, but I want to take my doggy with me. If I wait that long, he might be getting too old to make the trip. BTW I am told there's no work for teaching english as a second language where I'm going & I refuse to charter. PLEASE...no internet pyramid marketing scams or surveys! I've been desperate enough to research them all! . But I am open minded about legit online business. Unfortunately there would be times that I will be away from the net for 3 to 4. I have been pounding my head against a wall for 3 years looking for answers!! SOMEONE PLZ HELP ME!!!
