Hi everyone. I had been expecting a package that was supposed to arrive today. I got home at around 6 pm, and checked my e-mail at about 7:30 pm. Apparently, a delivery confirmation e-mail says that the package arrived and was delivered at 4:15 pm today. My mom and brother were home, but were never made aware that the UPS people had come by, nor did they ring the doorbell! I'm so upset, and don't know what to do! It says in the e-mail that the delivery location is the "porch"!! Can they just leave the package there without ringing the doorbell? What actions should I take now? What if someone stole it?? Is there warranty? Can I get some insurance payment??

Thanks for any help at all.

P.S. It was an mp3 player product replacement from Sandisk, if that helps at all (which is why I'm so sad now!!).

The driver might have gone to the wrong house. Call 1-800-PICK-UPS and explain your situation. I've had this happen to me before. UPS will either retrieve it or have the store you bought it from send another one.

UPS always leaves stuff on my carport without ringing the doorbell. Some of the items were $400! They are not as careful as they use to be and their drivers seem to have an attitude problem.

Technically, there is no proof that the item was delivered so I would contact the sender and ask them to resend the order or give you a refund. Then they may hold UPS responsible for undelivered goods.

I don't understand how UPS can get away with just leaving stuff around. But for future reference, I think when you order something to be delivered by UPS, you can request that you pick it up from the nearest UPS location rather than having them deliver it to your door. That may be the more secure way.

Good luck and I'm sorry for what happened. I'd be very upset too!

Yes they can just leave a package on the door if the sender didn't request that you have to sign for it. Call UPS right now, find someone to talk to it doesn't matter what time it is. You can also go to their website and "live chat" with a customer service rep. This needs to be reported IMMEDIATLY! Also notify the person who sent it to you, they can contact UPS on their end also. Good Luck

Get in touch with the UPS office tomorrow.Tell them that you didn't receive the package. That it was left on your porch, and not delivered to a person in your home .UPS should be lible for not ringing your door bell.
