I have invented an apparell accessory. It is patented. A major company is interested in producing my idea/protoype. Where and who should I consult with/hire to assist me in my negotiations in determining what my financial compensation should be in exchange for my intellectual property? .....As many detailed suggestions would be greatly appreciated! (I really feel like I'm in the dark with regard to this whole area.) THANKS!!!!

I wish I had a best answer for you, but here's what I would do, if I were you.

Pretend you are looking to buy something like what you are selling and find out what it would cost you.

It's how we price our recipes to market at my company.

Ask for at least 15% of the sale price for each unit. They produce it and market it so they get the most money. But you thought of it so you get your cut guaranteed.
My dad invented a clutch and got 25 cents per unit. It comes out to almost 100,000 dollars a year.

I would talk to a patent attorney. Even if they can't help you directly, they could point you in the right direction. Congratulations by the way.
