Just to make a long story short: I have had a life insurance policy since I was 22. I put in $1200/year. I am now 26. I was talked into getting this policy from someone who I respected but does not now, knowing they did not have my best interests in mind. I do not need life insurance at this moment, although I know there will be a need further down the line when I might have a greater chance of being uninsureable and the premiums will be higher. However, I am rated as preferred so I dont know if that will hold true. Should I surrender this policy? If I do I will have a check for $1331- basically I would lose out in $3469- BUT it might be better to lose that money now than to keep contributing $1200/year while the cash value grows very SLOW and my death benefit is only $176,000 anyways, which is NOT enough anyways... Any advice would be helpful. If I do surrender the policy I plan on opening a ROTH IRA and funding it with $200/month- the 100 from the ins. and 100 more of my money.

I ordered an guitar from an shop, i paid for the guitar and for the delivery cost too.and they used an courier service to deliver this guitar to me.
By a mistake the courier service has delivered it to an wrong address, and the guitar shop has contacted the courier service to chases it, now i have being waiting for 4 days and i haven't got the guitar. The courier service in their website says they offer compensation to the customers.
In this case who can claim the compensation, is it me or the guitar shop?

My question is as follows:
What is the difference between me allowing someone to drive my car and me having someone listed as a second driver on my insurance policy when it comes to an accident. What are the differnces in the two situations at the time of an accident claim being filed?

I know if the person I let drive my car had no fault in the accident, my rate wouldn't go up if I settle with my own insurance company. But if its the person who is driving my car's fault, are my insurance premiums affected? If yes, then what is the difference in not having the person listed at all and still making a claim through my own insurance.

I ask because I am thinking of putting my girlfriend who drivers my car sometimes listed as a driver on the policy. Would this protect me or my premiums in anyway in case of an accident compared to not having her listed at all?

I know that for the life insurance, he will have to have a paramed come to his house/work and check him over real quick, and they almost always do a urine test depending on the amount of insurance he is purchasing. If I am fairly certain he HAS smoked weed within a few weeks, am I wasting my time approaching him on Life Insurance?

I live in Texas-San Antonio, I am 19 and she is 19 and we are both non-smokers in good health, we are full time college students, we have a very limited income, and even more so with our new baby boy! I am really stressing for him and I need some coverage for about 15 years or 10 yrs in term coverage, I want his future to be more secure if something happens to me or his mother. We are not married yet and decided this was very important for our baby. Please help us find an inexpensive term life coverage that is at least 150,000 or more.

I have the option of signing up for long-term disability insurance through my place of employment. When I was young and single, I really never considered insurance much. However, now that this once wild stallion has been domesticated into family life, it seems that there are other concerns that need to be met, such as ensuring continued support for my family in the event that something should happen.

I still think insurance is a scam, but apparently a necessary evil these days.

My 19 year old daughter, my only dependent, has been covered by my group health insurance policy all her life. She got pregnant last year and was unmarried. She carried the baby until the sixth month and lost it due to chromosomal abnormalities. That pregnancy was covered by my group insurance. She is now pregnant for a second time but has just informed me that she got married in February 2006. When I contacted my benefits office, I was told that I had missed the deadline for requesting a conversion policy for temporary coverage for my daughter and that there were no exceptions. This seems so harsh since she now has no coverage for this pregnancy. I am willing to pay the increased premiums back to the date of her marriage. I have continued to pay my family premiums and am not asking for a reimbursement. Do I have any rights under the federal law that requires a employer to allow a dependant to convert to an individual policy? Jan

I am healthy, but if something happens I want to be sure I am covered. Have you had any good or bad experience with this company. I currently have Humana, and they don't want to pay for a minor office visit, so I am changing. Anything you could offer would be great. Thanks.

We had refinanced a year ago and it was determined at that time we needed more flood insurance coverage to cover the amount of the loan. We got the additional insurance, then our mortgage was sold. 9 months later the new loan holder wants us to obtain more flood insurance (which our insurance agents assures us in unnnecessary) or they will obtain it themselves and put a lien on us. Is this legal?

I went on line and purchased a detox kit. I haven't smoked for about 6 weeks. I have an exam scheduled for next week. Has anyone tried those detox kits? Do they really work? Or what do I have to do to make sure that nicotine is not in my system. I believe that I will have blood drawn and a urine test done that night.
