Ok got into an accident on tuesday and my insurence guy was saying something along the lines of.....if it costs more then 5,000 dollars to fix my car then i can get a new one (cause then it will hurt my re-sale value)....is this true? Can i get a new car? (my car is $11,000, but i only owe $9,000)...I think my car is totaled, my trunk is pretty much up to my back window and my doors are very hard to open (will open when alot of muscle is used)

Is a Property owner who's property is damaged by a Car responsible for part payment of the damage done by the Driver? regardless of cost surely its not the victim of this damage who should have to fund some 15% of the actual cost. What if the same thing should happen again would the third party the innocent one have to keep paying. Any advice would be appreciated.
Many Thanks

My husband recently became disabled and can not work due to a back injury (which did not happen at work). He is going to have surgery but it hasn't been scheduled yet (kaiser insurance and they take forever). My brother is my husbands employer. What happens with medical insurance in this case? My brother currently pays about 800.00 per month for medical for us and we are trying to save him some money. Can he legally fire my husband so that we can get cobra? Would cobra cost us more than the 800.00 per month? If someone has some answers to these questions that would be awesome. I have already been to the government site and looked over things but i'm not getting much info to specifics so please don't tell me to look at the EDD site. Thanks so much.

we have a car loan from wescom credit union, and for the past year they have been sending us notices that they do not have the proper proof of ins. coverage. then in the same notices, they are offering auto ins. Is this not strong-arming?
What should we do?
the ins. they offer is way more expensive. As we have been doing business with them for 7 years we think we should be treated better. never late on a payment.
Has anyone else experienced this predatory practice from wescom?

do you ever have any trouble getting them to pay their part on the dr bills. where my husband works has it. he has to wear a colopsy bag, and they refuse to payfor them. but they will pay for the needles people need. when i call them they argue with me and say they are supply and wont pay for them, now we are having trouble getting them to pay on the dr bills, why do they hold money out of his paychecks for the ins if we have to pay everything ourselves,? they dont even give the company a good reason for not paying their share which is supposed to be 50 oercent.

Holiday Insurance - baggage delayed 24 hours, policy in bag as not allowed on plane at that time, called Insurance Co. from Spain. Told £100 to spend, when ? anytime before return they said. Lodged claim, now say invalid as not spent WITHIN the 24 hours, policy says ..bla bla.. Any legal arguments you can suggest?

Does anyone know of an organisation that insures car components against going wrong or having to be replaced.

I recall the AA having some sort of scheme some years ago but I don't know if they are still running it.

It would cover you for parts that were unaffordable such as engine management systems, diesel pumps and gearboxes etc.

Obviously items like tyres, brake pads, windscreen wipers and exhaust systems would not be included as they are consumable items. I really mean the sort of components that you would not expect to go wrong for the reasonable life of the car and are not covered by the manufacturers' warranty, (usually because they fail after the warranty period expires).

my husband went to the eye doctor yesterday for the first time receptionist took the insurance info and we took a seat and waited fast forward he is through with testing the receptionist saids that will be $155.00 well we were floored his copay is $15 when we relayed that to her and asked why did you take our card / and that we were not prepared to pay that amount and we would pay the copay she said getting the card info if my husband needed surgery or something thats what the card was for and that they don't except it for routine visit well my husband paid a $100 because doesn't want his name going to a credit company for not paying i would not have been so quick because we should have been told before being seen so we could make that decision i think this was very deceptive she should have told us they don't except that card is there anyway we can get some of his money back what recourse do we have very very shady business he stiLL owns $55
