My Mom passed away a few months ago and my father already remarried. I recieved a letter from my dad asking me to sign ownership of a life insurance policy my Mom had to him. If I don't he said he will probate the will. My dad has given his new wife all of my Moms' jewlry and my siblings and I nothing. Now he comes up with this. Do I have to sign? If he probates it will he win? I have never even seen my Moms will - should I ask for a copy? The woman he married is wanting him to now leave her everything when he dies. My Mom wanted everything split equally between the kids before she died and I am sure she never thought my dad would remarry 4 months after her death and after 49 years of marriage. My Dad is also very ill. Does anyone have any answers or advise? I could really use some feed back.

I am so confused! I have several medical conditions; which means I NEED Health Insurance. I am unemployed and looking for work, so am trying to get temporary HI. The Insurance person told me I have to wait so they can check me because if you have any underlying condition, or need to take medications, you might not be covered.
What am I paying for then? If I am healthy; why do I need HI.
Should this really be legit? Can't the Government, who is supposed to protect us, do anything about it?
This just does not make any sense at all; as do many other things nowadays.
Does anyone agree with me that the world is backwords and really going completely insane.

I'm trying to get approved for the lap band procedure. My husband works for a company that is self-insured but they use TPA of Georgia to give approvals and handle claims, etc. They are really giving me the runaround on everything from paying claims to approving the lap band surgery. I meet all the criteria.

I need to take my husband to Urgent Care this morning....he has had a leg injury that is unexplained, and back of calf has turned yellow. I am fearing a blood clot. I am in transistion of employment, and my insurance has lapsed. I carried our family insurance since it was a better deal than my husbands plan. We are now going back on his insurance, but are in the middle of paperwork, proof of my insurance ending to pick his back up. It's just a matter of a day's worth of red tape, but now this is Sunday, and I feel the need to take him to the Urgent Care facility. If he needs hospitalization, treatment, surgery, WE ARE NOT COVERED right at this particular moment, and our luck just seems to run like this. Is there anything anyone might be able to suggest, or are we just going to have to eat the big bucks not having any insurance at this time???

In these days people sue for anything and sometimes win. How good are homeowner Umbrella polices and do they guard you against almost anything. Is there any other supplemental insurance to cover you for everything?

For example, do doctors have legal a basis to choose whether to participate in only the PPO plans for a health insurance company and not in their HMOs? What if the insurance company farms out its credentialing to a 3rd party payor? Any one know the section in the code ov virginia that would be applicable to this?

my union healthcare provider charges us by the hour worked. Approx. 3.75 per hour. for the last 10 years we are charged .50 cents too much per hour. when we ask for a refund we are told that they don't know how much was overpaid. Even though our eligiblity is calculated by the number of hours worked. And even if they did know how much was overpaid they couldn't give us a refund. because our retirement fund has miracuously lost money . And it would be in our best interest to put the money there. I think that it is strange that the provider and the union never knew that we were being overcharged. Second i feel that it is our money and we should decide where it should go.

I got in an accident June 11 of this year. My insurance company decided about 30 days later that the claim was void because i wasn't listed as a driver on my dad's policy and they believed i lived with him.

To prove i didn't live with, i got check stubs from the previous 4 years, mail from before, around the same time as, and after the accident. I gave this all to the insurance company to prove i was not staying with my dad (i even offered to confirm it though my school, but they said it wasn't necessary). So by their policy / law, i was covered under his insurance.

They never responded, but said they would if there were any more problems. Later, i recieved a letter from the DMV stating that I had to send my liscence, and tags in before the 27th of this month unless the claim was paid. Along with that i needed to provide proof of being covered.

My insurance assured me things were ok, and took these papers and sent them in for me. Today, I got another letter denying my claim. WTF?

A year and a half ago I rear-ended someone. 100% my fault.
A week later, in my new car, I got rear ended. 100% their fault.
My insurance rate went up and I don't know if it was due to just the 1st accident which was my fault, or both. Now, a year and a half later I got rear-ended again. 100% their fault. Will my insurance rates go up? Could they drop me for too many accidents even though 2/3 arn't my fault?

a car slammed into me from behind while i was waiting at a red light in february.... i had major headaches and neck pain, esp muscle tension.....i couldn't exercise normally.. so i had to go to a chiropractor for 3 months, and he told me to rest, and i started exercising again (slowly)...and my shoulder muscles were tensing so much it was painful... so i had to go back to the chiro for another two weeks. now the insurance company is saying they don't "believe" that the 2nd session was related to the accident.... what can i do? do i have to sue them? is that going to be a hard process?

:( i'm sad.....

My ins. policy lapsed in may (2006), I called the agent to quote me a new policy. He called me back, quoted me approx 250 per year for a landlord policy. He said my downpayment on the policy was approx 50 dollars. I came in to the agency that day, signed the policy, and gave them the check. My mortgage company nor myself never received anything, although my check was cashed. I called several times and was told everything was fine and they would send a dec page tto my mortgage company. My mortgage company placed forced insurance on my account. Which increased my payment. I sold the property July 31 2006 and I paid the mortgage company xtr$357 for homeowners ins from May 28 - July 31 PLUS I paid the insurance agent $50 for a total of $407. i WAS QUOTED just over $20 PER month for the policy from my agent so I should have paid about $60 for those 3 months. My mortgage company wont give my money back because my agent fails to prove a policy was issued and my agent refuses to refund me
