Go through their files, look for the policy. Go through the checking account and statements for the past year, look for insurance company payments. Check with the auto & home agent, see if they got life insurance through them. Check with the accountant. Check with their financial advisor, and check with their attorney.

If they don't have a financial advisor, attorney, or insurance agent, they are much less likely to have a life insurance policy.

If your question is in refererence to someone in your immediate family, ask them. If the person passed away and you want to know if there is a policy, look around the house/apartment where they lived.

They may have put it in a safe-deposit box at the bank.
