my union healthcare provider charges us by the hour worked. Approx. 3.75 per hour. for the last 10 years we are charged .50 cents too much per hour. when we ask for a refund we are told that they don't know how much was overpaid. Even though our eligiblity is calculated by the number of hours worked. And even if they did know how much was overpaid they couldn't give us a refund. because our retirement fund has miracuously lost money . And it would be in our best interest to put the money there. I think that it is strange that the provider and the union never knew that we were being overcharged. Second i feel that it is our money and we should decide where it should go.

The union collected the fees . . .my guess is, whoever "lost" the money in the retirement fund, "lost" the extra fees collected.

Call it Union Tax.

Remember, the premise behind a union in this day and age is, you're too stupid to handle things on your own, so pay us to handle it for you.
