I worked at a job who had a ppo insurance plan. October 30th I started a new job with a high deductable health savings plan. The plan has a 1,050 deductible, after that everything is paid for. My company gives a contribution of $800 a year, but since I started in October I only have $136 in my health savings account.
Well then I got sick and had to see a dr. I just paid for it because I didn't see the need to deal with it. Then I had a severe allergic reaction to the medication and had to return two more times, with IV's and other expensive what nots. Then I got home and discovered I was still covered by my old employer's insurance until November 30th. I called the clinic and had them file the claims with that insurance seeing as how it benefited me better that way (at this point I had also given them my current employers card seeing as how the deductable was getting there). They refunded my money, but I've heard this was the wrong thing to do. What am I supposed to do??

I accidentally damaged my neighbor's yard. About six shrubs were damaged.

The homeoweners has insurance for his home, and the insurance company estimated that it would cost $700 to restore the yard (including $500 of labor cost). But his insurance plan is $1,000 deductible, so he won't get money from them. He wants me to pay the money.

The estimate exceeded my guess, so I called a couple of landscape companies, and their estimates were different. It would take less labor, so total costs would be about $350.

I asked the homeowner if I can choose a landscaper to do the work, but he was not happy about that. I believe that he plan to do the work himself to save money. Price of shrubs won't exceed $150.

Should I just give $700 to him? Or would I be better off if I go to court? Would I need a lawyer for this kind of matter?

Thank you for your attention.

p.s. I live in New York state.

Why won't insurance companies write products on these? Has there been a claim or incident that has scared them?

for a healthy couple in mid forties with self employment status in Houston and 3 kids (ages 1, 5,10)

I have tried some links on internet. They ask for basic information and a phone number for their agent to call.

I wonder if there is any link that provides quotes via email.
