Hi
My boyfriend is exceptionally good at designing and building websites. He can create anything of any design or taste with special effects, videos etc etc on it. There are so many web design businesses out there that we decided to make ours with a difference - we will accept company stock or services from the business as payment for a top class website. This will appeal to people as they dont have to find a cash lay out to pay for a site which can run into the thousands for a really good professional site. Instead they use stock they already have or services they offer - i.e we do a holiday website we get free holiday / s that we can sell or keep at our discretion. This gives the smaller business's who cannot afford to pay for a website to still enjoy and benefit all that the world wide web can offer in extra marketing and sales.
However i do not have a clue where to start to advertise. Can anyone advise any good sites?
Thanks

I live in Chicago, and I keep seeing bilboards with one single word on them in large brightly-colored letters. They say things like "Humanity" and "Green".

What message are these signs trying to convey?

what are the differences between a general marketing plan and the marketing plan made by the product marketing manager?

OK from a moral point of view, the decision of Carphone Warehouse to withdraw support from the controversial show Celebrity Big Brother (UK) was clear to see - but will it have been a good decision commercially speaking? After all, the programme's viewing figures during the final stages (ie post sponsorship withdrawl) were high (they went up, of course!). On the other hand, will the extra "free" publicity that the actual withdrawl itself gained them - plus the perception of them as being "morally commendable" and therefore "OK" to deal with - more than offset the fact that they no longer appeared as the programme's sponsors at that stage? I'd love to hear some hard evidence to support your views too - if possible!

Hi there, I'm starting a photography business and have been mulling over names for about a week to no success.
Would any one have any ideas on some smart names that I could call my photography business which could also be used for a web site address. (sales will be mostly over the web so catchy names would be my first pick)

recieved this assignment and we just began this class and have not discussed anything like this. I am so lost! ANY help would be appreciated.... Below is the assignment:

MARKETING MANAGEMENT

CASE: Advanced Furniture Systems

Advanced Furniture Systems (AFS), a division of Conglomerated Diversified Industries (CDI), produces and sells a complete line of office furniture, equipment, and related products. Large organizations represent major potential customers and are served by a direct sales force. A separate sales force calls on a selected group of distributors who serve smaller organizations' needs. AFS sales for the current year are expected to reach $700 million, with direct marketing expenses budgeted for $100 million. Variable contribution margin for the product line is 20%.

CDI has distributed a corporate planning memo suggesting that increases of up to 15% in divisional marketing budgets might be possible in the next fiscal year. Industry s Industry sales for office furniture in the U.S. are expected to reach $13 billion in the current year with a ten percent increase next year*. These gains follow industry sales decreases in three of the preceding four years.

If AFS were to plan for a 15% increase in its marketing budget, what sales volume would be required to cover this increase? What would be the required sales volume, if an additional $3 million in total contribution was required for the 15% budget increase? What impact would these increases have on AFS needed market share?

Prepare a memo to AFS Executive Management Team (EMT) which answers the above questions. Include in this memo your recommendation for next year's marketing budget.

Unfortunately they have been left un-managed for over a year and have got used to taking breaks when they want, chat and mess about at will, surf the net and generally do as they please when they please! Is it best to pick them off one by one, or sit them down as a group and read them the riot act? I need to deal with this quickly and efficiently and want the simplest most effect way to do it - any suggestions?

Does anyone in this resourceful community (probably in the UK, but USA also useful) know a good publicity agent whom I can use for a variety of business projects? You can e-mail a reply to me directly ... large bouquet of flowers or similar to anyone whose suggestion works. I have a lot riding on it, but also a lot to offer so whover was chosen would have good material to work with.

Thanks in advance.

If a small business owner sent out a well-designed e-zine through email and gave a coupon for every person who forwarded the e-zine to 10 other people and CCed the company owner to record who did it, so the owner could give the bonus to the person.

Do you think this would work?

To receive the bonus, the person would have to sign onto an online account of the company's website and have a password for security reasons.

I am hoping to open an online store that sells clothes at value prices for both work and play, targeting ladies in their 20’s - 30’s.

I want the store to convey the following:
Unique
Trendy
Ideal
Value
Confidence
Exquisite

Of cos all of the above are already taken (can check here http://www.search.asic.gov.au/gns070.html ) so I was hoping for a name that plays with words, something like “you-nique” or “I-deal”….(both taken since the “-“ makes no diff, so “I-Deal” = Ideal.…*sigh*)

I am totally out of ideas...I’m hoping not to involve the pros cos they’d charge me heaps of $$~ would someone be willing to help and give me some suggestions?
