There is a "On the Run" Exxon filling station near my home and I somehow couldn't keep running by there to take advantage of their free water offer. They were offering a free dasani water if you purchased a 20oz cup of coffee. They also have this card that you get punched when you purchase a coffee. So you would technically get both free water and your card punched towards a another free cup of coffee. I know I shouldn't have pestered them by going over there so many times, but I just felt they started getting a bit on the rude side about the whole thing. They didn't exactly say anything rude, but their attitude was far from being hospitable and friendly. I mean at first they didn't seem to notice and seemed to have a good attitude about the whole thing, but it wasn't long before their attitude broke down. Have you ever had a similar experience? And by the way, I do often purchase a lot of gas there with my delivery work.

...why then one is not allowed to make a personal pickup. over the years there have been products where i'd call up and say i like to pick the item up since, i'd explain, i live close to your mailing address. 100% of the time they said it can only be ordered by mail which of course requires S&H. i have never tried this for video professor but did notice that the old man hols hand written letters telling him how much they like it. why do they not use email...so much for that junk. i want to know why the ICC has not come down on this obvious practice of fraud? try doing it for a product you see they claim is free. years ago my first one was one where Melita was offering a commuter mug "free". FRAUD. i said on the phone i like to save the 12.99 S&H because i will be in el paso in afew weeks and could just pickup. they said, can't do it. if i sell a Rolls Royce for 1 dollar but want 100K+ for S&H is it free when you can't pick it up yourself?

I am interested in promoting my website and services to a very targeted niche market: screenwriters and amateurs who write screenplays. But I am having a hard time finding a mailing list or opt-in emailing list for this specific group to promote to. I have checked with some of the big mailing list companies but my niche is just that-a niche. I already promote my site through Google adwords but now want to send direct mail or email.

Does anyone have any suggestions for finding lists for such a small targeted group? Thanks.

I found this website www.businesstalk360.com to help me get my product in front of people. The reps contact info is Dwanell Warren: dwarren@businesstalk360.com or 219-588-8532 I spoke with him and he told me that he set up businesses customer loyalty, e-club/vip programs. I've seen some of his clients e-club/ newsletters, like Hooters, Smoothie King, Harley Davidson dealership, just to name a few.

Bottom line he said that he can take a businesses product or service and market them to people that's only interested in that businesses product or services. He even showed me some examples of how... It looks good but I'm still new when it comes to marketing.

Could you let me know what you think and if you would use the businesstalk services. www.businesstalk360.com "Click on view Demo"

Thanks,

Some companies use the registration mark as part of their logos (such as Yahoo.com, Google.com, Fidelity, etc.). But others do not (Nationalgeographic.com, NBC.com). Why do some companies use the Registration mark in their logos, and why do others not? Is it just personal preference? Isn't it fine to just have a privacy policy or terms & conditions that explain the company and it's trade marks? As a designer, I think a registration mark looks ugly in most logos ... and just want to know if there were legal or other reasons...

I'm looking for marketing suggestions to attract customers to my golf league management website (I won't list the site so I'm not accused of spamming). I have an Adwords account, I've gotten great rankings with keywords like "Golf League Management" (usually #1 or 2) on Yahoo and Live.com, and within the top 10 on Google. I've also posted to golf blogs and directories.

Golf leagues are so seasonal that I basically have a 2-3 month window each year to get new customers. They trickle in by finding it through the search engines, but obviously I'd like to maximize this as much as possible.

I've been considering dropping by some golf courses and trying to give a quick unsolicited pitch to whoever's behind the counter in the golf pro shop, but I'm not sure how this will go over.

Any other suggestions out there? I've gotten great feedback from the leagues that are using it, but how do I convince others that it offers much more than they can do with an individual software program?
