I am guessing that as you have the name lotto in the email that you have received a scam email saying that you have won a lottery that you never entered.

Throw it away - it is spam/junk a con!

What does legitimate mean in your question? A valid functioning e-mail address? Or an e-mail address that is really going to pay you millions for nothing?

Think about it and you will find you actually know the answer already.
