Everything is so expensive and the prices keep going higher and higher. Don't you believe that with all these companies making big profits that they should raise our wages? What you earn for minimum wage is ridiculous...

When you interview for a job and they say they'll get back to you on Friday, should you wait to hear from them on Friday, or go ahead and call them on Friday - would it seem pushy, or show that you have initiative and really want the job?

And if you do call on Friday, what should you say if you actually get them on the phone? How would you phrase it?

Hello. I am a college graduate (graduated in 01 with a BS). I have been working in my desired field for the past 4 years. When I graduated from college, I had three bad jobs in one year's time. I was fired by 2 and I quit one rather abruptly. I have been working in one place for a little over 3 years. Im in a small community hospital and I would like to gain more experience in what I do. However, I am worried that thes past three jobs have hindered my ability to gain employment elsewhere. Does anyone know where I can find out what other employers are seeing when I submit an application? I forgot, on my resume, I do not include these three places because I feel they do not represent the type of worker I truly am.

Do I lay it all out there so only the truly interested call, or do I leave it vague enough so that someone who MIGHT be interested calls me and comes to see it? I obviously want serious buyers, but don't want to exclude anyone who might be won over by the charms of the house that a flier might not be able to convey. Some helpful hints would be appreciated, including what NOT to put on the flier.

I work in Marketing as a Product Manager. I had my 1st interview with this company a month ago, with 2 HR staff (2 hours long). A week later I had my 2nd interview with HR, Business Unit Manager & Marketing Manager, I had to do a presentation & answer more questions (another 2 hours). They told me they would make a decision in 1 day. Well 4 days later I got a call saying they wanted me back for a 3rd interview. 2 weeks later I have the 3rd interview with HR, B.U.M & other Product Manager. I had to do a role play, answer a case study, analyse data & answer MORE questions (another 2 hours). Do you think this is a bit far fetched? Or is it the norma? I could understand if it was for a more senior position, but really, why can't they seem to make a decision?

I'm 26. I've filed for bankruptcy twice (discharged once, dismissed the other time due to paperwork not being filed on time). I have a really bad rental history (with evictions), not proud of it. I don't have any credit cards (never have), so I have absolutely no credit. I've never owned a car. I do have a stable job (3+ years), and I've had a long, GREAT working history with reliable references.

I've heard sometimes it's better to buy a house than to rent an apartment with no hope of ownership.

I really want to get my own place, I've gone to credit counselling, and I'm now in control of my finances. I have about $1000 to put down on a house, if need be.

Any suggestions? Is it possible to get a decent house in a decent neighborhood (single, don't want any crime or questionable area)?
