After being a business owner for over 20 years, my husband has an opportunity to perhaps work for someone else. Because this is has been his only occupation, we are unsure how to proceed in preparing his resume. Any help would be most appreciated. Thank you!

I was given a proof advert by my local newspapers and they put the company name as the headline which to my knowledge after reading an article is not good practice.

This advert here is the advert I've put together myself:

Style is everything

We stock a wide range of Quality, stylish, affordable
silver jewellery for women & men

Please visit us at
www.companyname.co.uk

special offer 15% off in august/september

Could anyone tell me if this advert sends a clear message to potential customers and what suggestions would you have?

I'm looking for a job again and I'm on a really strict budget and have little to no extra time to invest in a job that can't meet my budget needs. When is the earliest time I can ask how much the job pays? Is it okay to call and ask, can I ask when I fill out the app/send in my resume, or should I wait until the interview. I definitely don't want to lose the job....HELP!

My husband is a Fire Safety Consultant and even though the new fire safety reform order comes into force on October 1st 2006, many business's just are not interested. Fire certification is going to be a thing of the past and the onus of fire safety is to be put on "the responsible person". Failure to comply could lead to 2 yrs imprisonment or £22,000 fine. Has anyone in business heard of this, all business should know but do they???

well, our location is central in our city, just off the main street. there's a lot of competition but our concept is original (compared to the local market). our budget is relatively small, but we managed to not lose control of the business by selling ... our concern comes from the fact that we've a long history of nonprofit work and are SO eager to make it in business - as nonprofit doesn't pay our child's kindergarten and all... we're energetic, love to work and enjoy working with people. what do you think????

he says he did it while he was in college cause he needed money to pay off student loans, he says that the people had bad credit so on two different occassions he let them use his name to attain a mortgage for using his good credit. i think he said he signed over power of attorney and for him allowing them to use his name, he got paid... since then both properties are in the process of being foreclosed upon (this is probably why the people couldn't get a mortgage on their own credit. does anyone know what this process is called? is it legal? and how should we handle the fact that his credit has now been ruined by two other people and they are threatening to garnish his wages because of the foreclosure, when he doesn't even live in these homes and the mortgage is simply under his name and social security number...is there anyway around this? legally? since technically he signed over all rights? can anyone help us out?
