My husband is a Fire Safety Consultant and even though the new fire safety reform order comes into force on October 1st 2006, many business's just are not interested. Fire certification is going to be a thing of the past and the onus of fire safety is to be put on "the responsible person". Failure to comply could lead to 2 yrs imprisonment or £22,000 fine. Has anyone in business heard of this, all business should know but do they???

As I have a licence (not a lease) on my commercial premises I have assumed it is the responsibility of my landlord to comply.
