Neither of us were good with moeny, so the debts far outweigh the assets. All bills are in my name. I've been left with the few assets, the two kids (thank god for that!), but it's hard to make a clean start when you're snowed under. My new partner rightly feels pissed off that she's paying my exes bills. Is there anything i can legally do?

In July, my wife and I extended our lease another year effective August 1, she has taken a job out of state and we must move. We notified our leasing office on July 29 that we will be vacating at the end of August. As a penalty for breaking our lease, they want us to pay September, October and November's rent. Do we have a legal leg to stand on since we notified them of our intention to leave BEFORE our new lease took effect and 30 days before we intended to move out? It was a great place and they were good landlords, but I think the penalty they want to put on us is a bit excessive. Any advice?

my neighbors had air conditioining units installed in their window... so i assumed they were okay.. my apartment is really stuffy and still (no air flow), but it was 100+ for a week or so, i finally gave in... i bought one... three days later, my landlord called and said that she doesnt allow them because they cause mold and moisture, and to please take it out. She called while I was sleeping and so I really didn't argue or think about it. I removed it, but i looked at my lease, it doesn't say anything. Should I fight it, or let it go? I moved down here from cold weather so the heat really takes a toll on me. Is it even legal since I'm paying electricity and the unit?

I have some items to correct on my credit report. One was a state tax lien. My lawyer was supposed to handle this. I wrote him two weeks ago reminding him of this, along with sending him all of the documentation. I haven't heard a thing. Should I go ahead and send my info to the credit company or wait to hear from my attorney? How long?
