I quit my part time job after a year as they were giving me too many hours ( I was on a 10 hr a week contract - they were giving me up to 50 a week!). I give 2 weeks notice and then went on holiday, when I got back I hadn't been paid. They said I had to give 4 weeks notice and will deduct money from my wages for their costs incurred and I'll get my wages minus the deductions the following month. I told them that I would've worked the extra 2 weeks if I'd known but they said it was too late. Is there anything I can do? Please help.

I lived in an apt complex for a few months and I cancelled the contract giving my notice and the termination fee of $720 (rent payment) becuase I was buying a house. Now the apartment complex sent me to a collection agency and they sent me a letter saying that I owe $1011. I sent a dispute letter to them. They called me at work which they are not supposed to and the collection person yelled at me and told me that I owe that money beucase of damages. I left the apartment in the same way that they gave it to me the 1st time, in excellent condition and I have witnesses. Also the kept the $200 deposit. I heard that if I write a dispute letter they can not report me to the credit bureaus, which I did write it and sent. I need help and orientation if someone have go thru this before or any legal advise. Thanks!!

What can I do to show my boss that I'm capable of handling this supervisor position? The person who is leaving has this LEAD position and we started around the same time and I know I'm capable of this! I'm a bit younger than her but I know I can handle it! What can I do?!?

Any suggestions would be helpful. I work in a call center and its a pretty small department. I've alrelady talked to my supervisor about it and she's considering me, but there are other people interested in it.

Thanks!

If so, how was your experience? What did you have to do? I need about $1000 for bills but didn't budget to well this month.

A loans company is trying to ellicit an admission from me that I lied on my application so they can sidestep a dispute and just give me back the money I've paid for an insurance premium so that I don't take them to court. I don't know whether a verbal admnission is automatically going to get me a CIFAS mark or whether I have to sign something first. Either way, if it happens, is there any way to clear my name?

There are so many fields of business out there with so many opportunities for being self-employed. I would like to find one where I can create my own schedule & be able to start working for myself within a year. Any ideas?

Probably such a question might have been raised earlier.. would request you to give this a thought and some time. In the current international business scenario, we are seeing a trend of movement of business from the west to east, particularly China. With such a backdrop, is it a viable option for young b-school grads learn CHINESE (at least to the extent of speaking Chinese)?

I am the main person at my job, a small law firm, and I have been here for 7 years. Besides the two attorneys, there is only one other person at my job and she started about 8 months ago with no experience. I believe it is time for a change in my life. I have been offered another job, but we are still working out the salary, etc. and I'm not really sure that I will accept it. I am sure that I want to leave my present job. It just bores me to death. I know all there is to know about it.
