What can I do to show my boss that I'm capable of handling this supervisor position? The person who is leaving has this LEAD position and we started around the same time and I know I'm capable of this! I'm a bit younger than her but I know I can handle it! What can I do?!?

Any suggestions would be helpful. I work in a call center and its a pretty small department. I've alrelady talked to my supervisor about it and she's considering me, but there are other people interested in it.

Thanks!

Most likely your previous actions and work ethic have already stated your case in your supervisors eyes. Some other things to consider in short term(most are obvious):
Dress nice. Always dress for the role you want.
Be on time or early.
Be friendly and social to everyone.
Take on extra tasks if they exist; especially ones related to the role you want.

Good luck!

You have to show responsibility and the ability to do the job on your own.

Make sure you can get along with everyone and not be a gossip, tattletale, etc. Any problems need to be handled in a mature manner.

Good luck

Will you interview? Make sure you knock them dead. Stay enthusiastic and tell them you love challenge and you know you can be successful given the opportunity to fill this position.

This is something you should be working on the whole time you have been there. They will base a lot of their decision on past performance.
