That's what the mortgage guy said but I've heard other people say I should try and refinance now. I've only lived in the home for 8 months. The interest rate is 8.625. Yes, I did (do) have less than desirable credit.

I'm thinking that it's being 'allowed' in a lot of different industries - banking, insurance, etc - as well as across industry lines and since we have a global world, this is a worldwide concern. It appears to me that big business is being allowed to 'gobble' up the smaller companies at will. Doesn't that create a monopoly? Isn't that what that big court case was about all those years ago, to keep AT&T from creating a monopoly? Maybe these questions should have been in the politices and government section as I can't understand how this could be happening if 'our' government weren't allowing it to happening.

The back pages of most news papers give long lists of share prices, along with some other basic data, such as Div. Cvr. P/E etc. For some peculiar reason, they explain what is glaringly obvious, but not the things we cannot know unless they tell us. For example, "Div" is it before or after basic personal tax?

I think it is after tax, but I am not sure. Grateful if some one who definitely knows could tell me, but no guessing please as I have no means of knowing who is right and who is wrong,

I have tried telephoning the newspapers in question, but gave up after ringing for 15 minutes and not getting a response (Naming and shaming "TheTimes"and "Financial Times" in UK). The newspapers in US cannot be as badly run.

Masters Degree vs. Master Certificate, which is better for a 35 yr.old career changer. I want to get into Human Resources (HR) after 20 yrs in customer service. I have my BA degree in communications and want to get additional education but not sure which way is best. I am married and we bought a house less than 2 yrs ago so money does play a part in which way my education will go.

I am a Fashion Design Major. Graduated 2005 *** laude with a 3.75 overall gpa. I've sent about 150 individualized resumes and cover letters and follow up phone calls, yet not one single employer has responded to even acknowledge that I am "alive". These were all job leads from the college job leads web-page. I have been designing free lance for about 20 years and flew through college on nearly straight A's. Yet I cannot get so much as a "face-to-face" interview anywhere.

I've done the research here and know that the paper could support itself nicely, but funding is needed for equipment and employees. It wouldn't need to be a large operation, but there are necessarily start up costs. I have experience doing this for other people, but need help getting it going on my own. Thank you.

I received a memo with my paycheck this week stating the insurance rates had increased starting this pay period. Open enrollment is not until August and no one was given the opportunity to opt out if they did not want the increase in payment. Is this legal?
