I've done the research here and know that the paper could support itself nicely, but funding is needed for equipment and employees. It wouldn't need to be a large operation, but there are necessarily start up costs. I have experience doing this for other people, but need help getting it going on my own. Thank you.

You could try getting funding from local council,

...or approach groups that currently put out community newsletters and discuss with them putting them all together into one paper to save costs for them and include your own content as an add-on.

I've been involved in a couple of small newspapers, and they usually start with approaching businesses who might want to advertise. Pre-sell the space and then oursouce the printing (at least initially) This not only covers your cost, but also gives you a ready made distribution network. E-mail me if you want to find out any more.

I think I would see if there are any government grants out there you could apply for. You could contact the businesses in your area for donations and perhaps do some fundraising. Good luck to you!
