I'm thinking that it's being 'allowed' in a lot of different industries - banking, insurance, etc - as well as across industry lines and since we have a global world, this is a worldwide concern. It appears to me that big business is being allowed to 'gobble' up the smaller companies at will. Doesn't that create a monopoly? Isn't that what that big court case was about all those years ago, to keep AT&T from creating a monopoly? Maybe these questions should have been in the politices and government section as I can't understand how this could be happening if 'our' government weren't allowing it to happening.

They called it Ma Bell. At the beginning, it should have been bought by the government and made a Department in the Executive Branch. I'm serious. The Secretary of Communication. Bell (or AT&T) did the best job in the history of communications. But, ah, well, there was more money to be made by busting it up and spreading the business. Are you a recipient of any of that money? If not, just pay your $200+telephone/cable/internet bill and be happy.

BS walks and money talks. Look who is contributing to what politicians, then look at what the politicians are investing in.

Look at Ken Lay (Enron) heard anything about him lately?

With 200 billion dollars you can do, kill, escape to anyplace you desire.

That's just the way is!!!
