Like most of us, struggle with two jobs, cut expenses everywhere, sacrifice and wonder if it is worth it.

Marry a rich person.
Dumb question.
How about expecting your CHILD to contribute to the cost of their own education. Parents don't have to foot the whole bill, and the person who paid for their own education values it more.
I put a good amount of money away for my kids and they are free to live here and attend locally (we have top universities in this town).
However, they can foot the bill if it exceeds what is out there by working, getting their own loans or learning how to hunt down scholarships and grants.
I'm not risking my financial future as I near retirement, when they have the rest of their lives to pay for the education they will benefit from.

Isn't school free where you live? School is free here and it's just the supplies you have to pay for. If you can't afford the supplies, check out the sales in august or the "food bank"'; they often carry school supplies in August or early September.
If your child is in post secondary school, I had to WORK to get my degree. A lot of students take a year or two off and work while taking a night class or two.
