Hi English is my sec language, therfore pardon my english ok?

i am korean, and nowadays, i have wanted to get my hair permed.....
i live in NYC. i went to one of korean hair salons, and they costed me $80. if tip is included, it will cost $90........
to get a hair cut, i have to give them $35 without tip....
do you think it is normal in NYC?

i think its kind of expensive, so i want to try another hair salon..... but, i am afraid of going to american hair salons..
many koreans consider they suck. and they think it's not good for asians because asians are different from caucasians, and they think the prefered style is different....besides, i am gonna have perm hair, i don't know if they can do it well for me, also dunno the price.....

what do you guys think about this situation??

and if you wanna recommend american hair salons, plz give me directions and approximate prices.

my natural hair color is medium brown and i have tried to dye my hair purple three times and everytime it stays purple for about a week then it turns red....i get my hair professionally dyed and i use permanent dye....anyone have any explainations?

I've dyed my hair since I was 14 and tonight,I just plucked a hair that was red(I have red highlights),and it was red at the top and then half way down it was clear/white looking.What is this caused from?

this is a long-hair story
my natural hair colour is light brown. in september last year i dyed my hair black with a semi-permament dye. then stupidly in october i decided to bleach my long hair and i totally fried it. i dyed over it with a dark semi dye a couple of times and it looked fine, apart from being in bad condition. i dyed it once more at christmas and it's a darkish brown now with unnoticable lighter roots. thankfully its almost grown out but it's still very dark. i was wondering if i used a lighter brown dye would it lighten it.. or darken it?
note that my hair is in pretty good condition now apart from the ends

i am not paying for salon treatment as im a poor student and i want to go blonde eventually (as i have done for ages) and im going to get THAT done professionally

Ok, right now, I'm using this technique that someone taught me. It's like your in the shower, you flip your hair over,comb it through with a special condidtioner. But it won't work. I can't use condidtioners that are stay-in, or things with too much oil or achohol. Any tips for my hair.

Looking for moisturizing lotion and a leave-in treatment for ethnic hair (mixed hair to be exact). If you have this type of hair what do you use??? Im tired to wasting money on products that don't work for me. I have curly/wavy hair that is dry and thirsty and needs to be TAMED! And to stay that way so I do not have to re-apply every hour.

I have extremely thick, wavy, frizzy and poofy hair. I want to but a straightener but it needs to work well (no kinks and straight as a board) for around $150. Which one should I buy?

ok, so radiant red and brilliant brunette shampoos both have names starting with the letter of their color. however sheer blonde doesn't, implying the "dumb blonde" stereotype
i don't think this is coincidence, since there are plenty of words they could have called their "blonde shampoo"

UGH! I have tried almost every hair product out there! There is nothing to tame my wild poofy hair!

I just recently went on a nutrition diet, so have found ot that most anit-frizz products have a temporary effect and leave the hair even worse. But, there must be something out there...Any suggestions for a product (like hair gel, but not hairspary) that actually helps poofy and/or frizzy hair to stay down?
