Fashion & Accessories - October 2006

I live in Hawaii. I don't have a lot of warm styles. I am going to NYC for a week. Got to buy some things but don't want to break the bank. What would you buy to take with you that would be versitile (20 something petite woman with blonde hair)?This is more for fun, but I will be at some gallery openings and B'way shows. Why do people hate abercrombie? i think the store is cool, the clothes are nice, and the cashier girls are hotties! and i think hollister is junk. its abercrombie but cheaper.

and i think the people that hate abercrombie are usually people who cant afford it. cause once u go abercrombie u cant go back!

hi there leopard print is really in this season so as you can imagine when I picked up a lovely soft leopard print mid length coat(vintage) I thought I was on to a winner.Husband spotted it hanging up and asked if Bet Lynch had moved in! Im blond and a young looking 38, what do you think ? I was going to wear this with plain black or brown cut off smart trousers and black or brown full lenght boots - good idea or bad?

i dont know about anyone else, but i wear the same clothes all year long. jeans and t shirts. hoodie or sweatshirt in the cold.
i dont understand this whole, "fall fashion" "summer colors" business. what's the difference as long as your comfortable?
maybe its because my mother didnt raise me as a fashion consious prep (no offense meant. i just cant think of what else to call all you mainstreamers.)
maybe it's because i dont care and i like wearing black all year.

I posted up a question earlier. Thanx for the advice people!

Since the restaurant is business casual..i dont want to wear a cocktail dress because I think is over done.. This restauarnt is not like those dress code wheere u must dress elegant!

This restauarnt is those on the ships with business casual dress code. I wanted to wear a skirt with this black mid calf black boots. But I don't know what kind of skirt I should wear it with. I though about jean skirt but I don't think is a good in that surrounding. Any one got sum suggestions? What kind of skirt (material, colour) along with what kind of top..

Or i thought of a black slacks with sum nice topor sweater. But I think a skirt is much better.

I'm going to london for a week at the end of October and I was thinking of buying a three quarter length black wool coat for the trip. I currently live in FL, and don't have much experience with cold weather fashion. Would I be out of place wearing this? Is it too early in the season? I've always wanted an opportunity to wear a real winter coat but don't want to look silly ^^ Temperature wise it will be in the 40's and 50's, which to me I know will seem freezing.

how do you keep them clean long after they have healed? I wash mine in the shower every day (with reg. soap) but still towards the end of the day the get that cheesy stuff on them and it smells if i forget to wash.

help please! this weekend is my bf bday. I book a restaurant on a ship right by the pier. The dress code is business casual. At first I picked out an outfit but it looks more like for clubbing.

if it was dress code as dressy than no problem. I have this cocktail dress. Since is business casual what do you guys have in mind? I know people in there is not gonna be all dress dress up. More like casual and acceptable. But myproblem is I have no idea wat to wear?

I'm 5'2" weigh 115lbs. I would consider my body type to be curvy/slim. I wear a size 1 in jeans and small tops.

I'm trying to decide what kind of coat would flatter my body the most. I've always wanted a pea coat but I'm afraid it would just swallow me up.

Find it hard to pick clothes that "match".

I am not sure if I am partially color blind or something, but sometimes I will pick stuff out and my girlfriend says that they do not go together.

This mostly happens with work clothes. I wear business casual at work, so I wear a lot of polos during the summer with Khakis which is pretty easy.

I run into problems when it gets colder out, and I need to pick shirts that match all different colors/shades of pants/slacks.

Are there any simple general rules for colors of shirts/pants/belts & shoes?

ok so i have this upcpomg homecoming. i went to one last weekend, i had a real pretty cocktail type styled orange dress with brown straped shoes. well i notcied alot of the other girlsw re more "modern" in their dress and shoes and hair ect.. wre i was more "dressy" if that makes any sence. so i have another homcing ina few weeks and i another dress. a simple black one. sooo i was wodnering what type of shoes i could wear, that might make it more mondern ... or more " high fashion" ?haha .. like a hot pair of red shoes? pumps? wedges ? ect.. and also how to do my hair .. please help fashion junkies =]

I am a hairstylist and I'm about to start at a VERY nice salon. I need shoes/boots (closed toe only) that are stylish and will make me look nice- things with heels too- that I can stand to wear all day while I'm on my feet. I can't pay $100 a pair by any means either. Brands, Stores, websites would all be helpful.
