I'm going to london for a week at the end of October and I was thinking of buying a three quarter length black wool coat for the trip. I currently live in FL, and don't have much experience with cold weather fashion. Would I be out of place wearing this? Is it too early in the season? I've always wanted an opportunity to wear a real winter coat but don't want to look silly ^^ Temperature wise it will be in the 40's and 50's, which to me I know will seem freezing.

Absolutely not!!! If you watch "What Not to Wear" with Susannah and Trinny on BBC America, Trinny wears one all the time!!! I love jackets of that length, they make you look thinner! So go ahead and wear that jacket.

at the moment it is alittle chilly and will probably be colder by the tim e you get here. A 3/4 length coat will look fine to wear here. (p.s I work in retail so have some idea as to what is in/out of fashion)

That will be perfect for London at that time of year. I wore a lined raincoat when I was there in Oct. and I was glad I had something warm. Take gloves and a hat, too. Pack some sweaters and long sleeved clothes. It will be quite chilly.
