I live in Hawaii. I don't have a lot of warm styles. I am going to NYC for a week. Got to buy some things but don't want to break the bank. What would you buy to take with you that would be versitile (20 something petite woman with blonde hair)?This is more for fun, but I will be at some gallery openings and B'way shows. I would take some cute jeans, a cute skirt and a couple of cute/tight longer sweaters for layering. I'd also take a cute anthropologie-ish jacket/blazer and a wide cashmere (or similar feeling knock-off) scarf.
Oh, and for dry and warm feet, a pair of wedge-heeled boots in black or brown; they'll go with skirts adn jeans and still look cute. Have fun!

just make sure you have a thick coat and some jeans and if you are going to a show you will need some type of dress/gowns how many depends on how many events you are going to

no worries buy 2 sets of a well fashioned dress put the tops with other pants.create your own style . after all its fashion.
