My husband has had very subtle blonde highlights in his mid-brown shortish hair for a few years. Yesterday he went to a new hairdresser and came home with huge clumps of bright yellow hair in patches all over his head. We immediately complained and he returned to the salon where they put more peroxide on it to turn the shade from brassy yellow to peroxide blonde. It's better than the yellow but still hideous, and to make it worse we go on holiday in 4 days. His roots look black now against the bright blonde, and the contrast is awful.
Can a brown dye be put over the top of it to try to get it back to the original colour, or at least tone it down a bit? (The hairdresser has agreed to do this is if he still isn't happy, but I don't know if they are to be trusted). Please, please help as he looks such a state and he's worried about spoiling all the holiday snaps!!
